OVERALL PLOT TL;DR

Major Ryder choices that affect Raeka in one way or another heyooo:

-Chose to save Raeka over saving Drack's krogan scouts. Sorry scouts 8(
-Convinced Avitus Rix to become the new turian Pathfinder
-Told Sarissa to piss off, Vederia Damali became the new asari Pathfinder
-Chose August Bradley to be Ambassador over Raeka
-???
-Profit

Personality:

Upon first meeting Pathfinder Raeka, two things immediately become apparent; 1, her voice is unfairly adorable, and 2, she has seriously got her shit together like what the fuck. Immediately after being revived from stasis, Raeka jumps right into action in order to help Ryder save her ark and her people. There's no hesitation, no doubt, just a drive to get shit done and the will to make it happen. Just from her relatively short first appearance alone, she proves to be competent, confidant and compassionate, able to think on her feet and solve problems on the go, all while keeping the well being of the people around her in mind. Also, she's kind of a badass.

Raeka strives to be fully aware of herself at all times. She's admitted that she spends a lot of time in front of her mirror, studying herself. Not in a vain sort of way, but in that "figuring your shit out" sort of way. She wants to be sure that she knows how to make the right decisions, and live without regrets. She states that she's been "mostly successful" so far. It's largely thanks to the time she spends reflecting on herself that she's able to confidentially make snap decisions on the battlefield or in other tense situations, keeping a cool head even in the bleakest of times.

While most of her decisions are rational, on rare occasions she can act on emotional impulse, such as calling Ryder to say goodbye when she realized she wouldn't be able to save herself or the salarians she'd gone back for. If the player chooses to save her over Drack's scouts, she expresses regret at having called Ryder in the first place and is genuinely sorry for forcing Ryder into the position of having to make a difficult decision.

She recognizes that she owes her life, and the lives of everyone on board the Salarian ark to Ryder and her team. She fully intends to earn the second chance she's been given, and, being fully aware that her survival came at the cost of his scout's lives, informs Drack of as much when he confronts her about it. Raeka is the type who takes full responsibility for her actions, and owns her mistakes. Despite her position and past accomplishments, she still remains humble.

After everything that Ryder had done for her and her people (and basically everyone else in Andromeda let's be real), Raeka was more than willing to help her in any way that she could, including and not limited to standing up to Nexus high command on Ryder's behalf. Her trust and confidence in Ryder is unwavering, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to help her, even if it means going behind the backs of Nexus high command with her fellow Pathfinders to do so.

Though Ryder didn't choose Raeka for the role of ambassador in this particular playthrough, doing so would prompt her to inform Ryder that she won't allow herself to be manipulated when it comes to politics. She is strong willed and not easily swayed, determined to use whatever position she has to improve the lives of everyone around her. Her biggest driving force is helping people, and she's self sacrificing to the point of being willing to risk losing her own life for someone else, such as when she went back for her men that had been trapped by the Kett.

When not immediately faced with some horrible crisis, she's friendly and encouraging. She sometimes goes out of her way to look for little ways to boost the morale of the people around her, at one point gathering the Pathfinders together just to have a little celebration and pop open a bottle of space wine with them.

Setting: Raeka's going to dive right into figuring shit out. Given her Pathfinder status and scientific background, she'll most likely take a special interest in Thisavrou and what makes it tick, specifically in regards to Chioni's unstable environment. She'll also be interested in studying the Ingress itself since that seems to be the way to get everyone back home and it's kind of a big deal and heyooo.

Abilities/Skills: Raeka doesn't have any wacky space powers, but she does have extensive combat training and natural leadership skills. She's also a brilliant scientist whose work has already saved a panet that was in decline.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
STRENGTHS: Mad science skillz, good leadership skillz, stubborn, charismatic, high stamina (salarians only need like an hour of sleep a night it's kind of Nuts), extensive combat/weapon training, adorable voice. That's a strength now.

WEAKNESSES: Salarians in general aren't known for being physically strong. So, noodle arms. Raeka has no problem with risking her own life if it means she might be able to save someone else (depending on in game player decisions, it can get her killed). While level headed and rational like 90% of the time, she isn't entirely above giving in to emotional decisions if a situation looks too bad.

Items:
-Armor. It's orange. Because orange is badass.
-Her Omni-tool. It's also orange. Because science.
-A pistol. That's for shootin'. Probably not orange.

SAMPLES
Network Sample:

Good day. This is Pathfinder Raeka, with the Andromeda Initiative. I'm hoping to touch base with anyone from back home. Assuming anyone from back home is even here, that is. I've been informed that it's a possibility, so I figured it couldn't hurt to try.

I can be reached at this frequency, please reply at your earliest convenience.

Additionally, if anyone has any advice or information that isn't already covered in the guide, I would very much like to hear it. Thank you in advance for your time.

Raeka, out.

Prose/Action Sample:

[This, oddly enough, wasn't the first time that Raeka had woken up surrounded by strangers. This also wasn't the first time she'd been completely cut off from her SAM, but having experienced it before did little to reassure her when she suddenly found herself dealing with it all over again. Especially considering that this time, severing her link with SAM hadn't been planned, and the strangers she was surrounded by weren't allies. She didn't know enough about the situation to peg them as enemies yet, but she would still have her guard up.

The only plus to the situation here was that there was no threat of Kett, no urgent need to leap into action immediately after waking. That didn't mean she wasn't going to, though.

She'd overcome the shock of the whole situation surprisingly quickly, processed everything the medical tech had told her in a matter of minutes. Whether she believed all of it or not was a different story, but all things considered, she was probably one of the chillest new arrivals to ever come through the Ingress. One didn't learn by panicking and flipping out on people, after all, and since she wasn't being threatened, she figured that the best, and safest, course of action would be to cooperate.

Cooperating ended as soon as she was out on her own, though. Not content to just sit around and accept that she's simply stuck here, Raeka set off to investigate the Ingress Complex. if there were answers to be found, she was determined to find them.]

Hey, Raeka. How do I explain a mass effect field without sounding like an idiot?
